    Pink.. neutrals are really in.

Does anyone knowz an easy way of doing french manicure on short nails?

i alwayz make a wriggly line!!!Does anyone knowz an easy way of doing french manicure on short nails?
get the body shop french manicure pen, ive got it %26amp; its like got both the pink and white on different ends %26amp; the whites got a special slant so it dosnt go wrong :) (its like 拢7) xDoes anyone knowz an easy way of doing french manicure on short nails?
This sounds weird, but it works. Get small pieces of sellotape, and put them on your nails, leaving the tips (the bits you want white), uncovered, similar to how you would if you were painting a wall and avoiding a skirting board. Then paint the tips white, and it doesn't matter if you get it on the sellotape. Wait for it to dry, and then peel the sellotape off...voila!

    xoxo
paint the line and then once that's dry use a paintbrush or qtip dipped in nail polish remover and make the line straight. Then you put the colored or clear coat over it. It works for me.
french manicure luks good only on long nails...how wuld u divide pink and white on short nails ...grow them a bit

    Finger nails/French manicures?

Well my nails keep braking but I want a french manicure done on them before I go on holiday...in the middle of May. If I cut my nails now, and let them grow back, would they have enough time to grow back before my holidays so I can get them done...I only said that because I find if I cut my nails when they all start braking...then put strengthener on them...they grow back quite well. Thanks xFinger nails/French manicures?
Better than getting acrylic or false nails, try Nails Inc's 3-week manicure - it's worked wonders for my dry, brittle nails.

They layer a plant based gel over your own nails that lasts for 3 weeks. In that time, my nails all grew to a really good length and are amazingly strong. Repeating just makes them even better. You can have french manicure done in the gel, or various colours (or clear).

I don't want to sound like an advert for them (unless they're paying me!!!) but it really has saved my nails - I had false extensions for ages and it made my real nails worse and worse.

EDIT: If you do want to grow them, cut them all back to the same length and start again from there, keep moisturising your hands and nails to help them grow.Finger nails/French manicures?
Should be ok, could always have false ones done. The sally hansen range of treatments are very very good and not badly priced either.
Don't cut your nails because they will do that at the salon when you get it done
I don't know if different people's nails grow at the same rate but if your nails grow like mine you should have loads of time to let your nails grow. Keep using the nail strengthener to stop your nails from breaking. My nails grow really fast so if I don't file them down every so often and left them for a couple of weeks they'd be claws. My friend was having a beautician come to her birthday party once and she was doing french manicures on people and I only gave my nails a week to grow for it and they were fine. French manicures can be done on most nails, even if they're really short! My friend managed it and she bites her nails down.
i think you will get enough growth to have a manicure by then.. so yes, cut them down and start again
Mine do that but even if i cut them all back to nothing as soon as they start to get long one will break (normally the one on my pinkie cos it grows faster than the others) and then they break one by one. I've never kept them long except with acrylics.
Make sure all of them have at least 5mm length on them.
dont cut ur nails the salon peeps will do it for you
My nails do that too and I have just cut mine down quite short. I do my own french manicures and when the actual nail is short I just do the white tips a bit bigger, it still looks very nice.

I would go with your own suggestion of trimming them and putting strengthener on, maybe a another hard top coat as well to protect. I find Avon Gloss Guard pretty indestructible and I have tried a few!

If you don't think they are long enough by the time you go to get your holiday manicure, have some acrylic or gel tips done.
i personally like to get acrylic nails put on before an event because my nails crack a lot, then i get a french manicure on them one or two days before i go to the event.

you could cut your nails now, they should have a decent amount of time to grow back if you put strengthener on them. you can also go to a full service salon and ask one of the people that works there what their suggestion would be, they are trained in that sort of thing.

    hope this helps.
French manicures look extremely charming on short nails too. I would recommend a sheer white for the tips rather than the stark white. The sheer white looks way more natural. But anyway. There is a great new nail strengthener out by Revlon. It's called Calcium Gel Nail Hardener. Put that on everyday and then go get your french manicure. You should be fine.

    French manicure on short nails?

I have really short nails. They don't cover the skin and on some the white portion is longer than the pink. I want natural looking nails...what options do I have? My job involves a lot of writing so I don't want them too long either.French manicure on short nails?
I have short nails and do sometimes give myself a french manicure. I just paint on the white tips (it doesn't matter where the white part of your nail is, you can paint the white tips wherever it looks best), then put on some nice blush nail polish. I always put on some clear acrylic nail enamel to finish, so the manicure lasts longer. I love the look of a french manicure. Simple, clean, and elegant!

Good luck!French manicure on short nails?
You can ask the manicurist. =)
french manicure doesnt mean it is with long nails so if u like french manicure choose it anyways ask the beautician she knows everything, she is the master:)

  • Would a french manicure look good on short nails?

I have EXTREMELY short nails, htey don't even cover the skin. If the french mani wouldn't look right what colors would be good.Would a french manicure look good on short nails?
You probably need to wait until they grow out some. It's spring time so maybe you should go with bright colors. Reds, pinks, or orange.Would a french manicure look good on short nails?
i dont suggest doing that. getting your nails dont at a nail place isnt the best idea since you could get infection.

i mean any color you want would be fine. if you are light skinned, black would be awsome, any darker color. if you a dark skinned, anything but loud colors like bright yellow. i mean you can paint them any color, but try to let them grow. dont bite them, if you can, and dont cut them too low

    also use nail hardening polish.
well i think it might be betetr if you had your nails at least to your skin, so maybe try growing them out a little by putting a color of nail paint on them, because then you'll forget about biting them or peeling them, or whatever you do to them. lol. but i think it would still look cute!
French manicure? The one with the white tips?

I think your nails are too short to have that. Try all black nails, like what Rihanna has. I think that's cool.

Check my source for celebs with really great looking dark nails.
grow your nails a bit more and then get a french manicure.

i like the red that you have now :). i think white would be nice too.

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
French manicure ALWAYS looks better than normal nails (especially chewed ones) - why don't you have silk or gel extensions for a while until your own nails grow - I like plain white tips as they look great with a tan.
Actually, French Manicure is meant 4 long nails. They complement the grown part of the nails. That's why it won't look good in short one. You should try %26amp; stop chewing your nails which will help them grow better and faster.
Not right now, Just continue to keep them manicured and fresh and clean with a clear nail or one with a hint of pink to give that healthy nail look...

Try to work on the nerves, no more nail bitting, please

    reviveu2
I think it'd be cute, personally :] Little french manicures look better than ones on long fingernails.

Do a white with a clear color, those look best :]
Most french manicures are done with the adding of nail extentions so yes you can get it done. I have seen it on short nails and it looks ok but better when longer.
I don't think that would look very good---try growing your nails out at first and then you can paint them however you want.
you need a bit of a nail for French manicured nails. What aout getting acrylic or gel nails til your own grow out. You can't bite them either!

If you can afford it I highly recommend them!
no i dont think it would sute french manicure, maybe 1 plain colour without a desighn will look good on short nails.

    maybe ligh pink or black
No it will not because the manucurist won't have anything to paint white for the French manicure ';look';. Sorry.
no, Id wait for them to grow atleast to the tip of your finger.
    get fake nails
no i don't think so i would grows some nails girll or get fake onesss mannnnn

my thumb, and index are long...and the others r short...

i wanna give myself a french maincure...but im afraid it will look weired...what should i do?Can i do a manicure with my nails???french manicure..........?
I think you should just cut all your nails short so they'll grow out evenly, only then can you get youself a nice french manicure. In the meantime while you're growing them out, try painting your nails in dark colors like purple, they're in this season. Can i do a manicure with my nails???french manicure..........?
how about you get one of those french manicure nail boxes from a drugstore for 5 or 6 dollars glue them on and they look real great and natural looking....trust me Ive done them before
ok..........i went for the first time to go do my nails done i watch theme do my nails then i bought a kit and i started doing my nails and i love it but if your nails are like that and uneven and you can clip theme all to the same size then wash your hands and then begin painting............goood luck
give it a shot gurl! even if it doesn't wanna work out, you make it work. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!! hope that works......good luck! :)
even out your nails first with scissors and a nail file.

    then do your nails.

if you can't do it yourself because they are so uneven.. then go to a nail salon and get them done at least once so they can give you the right shape and match all the lengths up.

    good luck!
    go to a nail salon

they do it great for just 15 bucks

Simple French manicure or Flowery Design Colorful nails?

I'm going to get my nails done, and I was wondering if just a plain white tipped French is better or a color nail [maybe like purple tips with flowers%26amp; or something i dunno] is better.

Hmm, which one do YOU like?

thanks(:Simple French manicure or Flowery Design Colorful nails?
Flowery designs are kinda for kids. I mean they are really cool but i definitely think that french is simple but always pretty.Simple French manicure or Flowery Design Colorful nails?
it depends on your style as in who you feel you are as a person and how you dress in general. Me i go for the white tips every time as that suits how i dress and matches my wardrobe ie i don't have to think about what will match my nail colour etc i have enough to do with te rest of me hair eye make up and lipstick ........... best wishes maureen
simple french is more wintery. i wouldn't do designs because they over power your hands and look trashy. a simple vibrant color would look beautiful for summer months. and basically you want them short if they are fake. other wise again- trashy. have them short and a vibrant simple color.

    gorgeous.
I think it depends on how old you are. I think that if you are older than 16 you should have french manicure, and no flowers. Flowers are kind of childish if you ask me. and different color tips are cool :)
Get a white French tip with a white flower on either every finger nail or just the two thumbs. White is really the only color that works for the tips.
the purple one is defiantly better but it depends what are you going to do while your nails are painted if its nothing special then go with purple if its something formal then go with white
i think if anything you should get a french manicure with just white tips, but over the french tips, you should get some sort of floral pattern or design
    French manicure. It's Summery!
Go with the simple French. Always classic and pretty.
go floral and get the bright flowers they will look great :D

red nails are kind of classy .. totally not sexy
It depends on where you are going

Do you prefer french manicure or painted nails?

if painted, what color?Do you prefer french manicure or painted nails?
I personally don't like french manicure, its too common.Everybody uses that, from the ladies who think its classy to porn stars(btw have you all noticed all wear french manicure?). I like painted nails, and every time i try to stay tuned with seasons colors, even a little drawing made on them from time to time.Always hand painted not airbrushed. When painting them you have so much more options to choose from, styles and colors but hey this is just my taste :)Do you prefer french manicure or painted nails?
french manicure looks really nice and classy..but its chipped easily. So it just depends on how much time and money and effort you want to spend.
I like french manicures but i hear they are harder to maintain. so either way is nice.
French manicure looks great on toes but somewhat pretentious on fingers. Go with a shiny, strength-building clear coat... it'll make you look more approachable %26amp; down to earth.
I like Essie's Ballet Slippers or Waltz. As pretty and natural as a french manicure, but not as likely to chip. American Manicures are cool too. If you get a french manicure, ask them to hand paint it, not airbrush, because it'll last longer! If you dig dark colors, Lincoln Park After Dark by OPI is off the meter...its a dark burgundy-ish color!
    french its preetier
Personally I like the American manicure, its like the French but tips are painted not so white, looks more natural, nails look clean

Do guys like french tipped nails?

Manicured or just regular. I just want to know? Guys do you like french tips on girls nails?Do guys like french tipped nails?
I love french tips on a girl. it's hotDo guys like french tipped nails?
Until I read some responses I had no clue what ';French tipped nails'; were.

Clean, relatively short, not ragged. That's my only thoughts regarding nails preferences.

Too fancy, and I figure you're not going to be able to do normal everyday things without destroying what's probably a VERY expensive manicure.

Plus, if you touch me intimately, it might HURT.
I'll tell you this much: the French have no idea what a ';french tip'; is.

Just another example of the self-absorbed excess of American teenagers. Doubly frightening is that these days many NEVER grow out of it and stay spoiled brats who end up committing atrocities like shopping for foreclosed homes on TV and voting for George Bush.

Sorry to pick on you, honey. Tiring this homelessness late at night, you know? Harmless question and I hope you get the right guy. Just stay away from those icky decal-things.
*LOL* Most of them are going to think something ';french tip'; is either edible (French dip) or erotic (French kiss). They'll secretly hope that you will French Tip them, but then, they really don't have a clue. As long as you don't obsess about them, they'll be fine either way.
Some guys like them (it's when the section of yuor nail that extends beyond your finger tip is a different colour that the restof your nail)

    Some guys don't.

Every guys is different, just like every girl.
i like the american style of whatever its called, looks more natural. french tips are really cute on toes, but i think on fingers, it just screams ';fake bimbo';. sorry girls. no offense to anyone.
Guys really dont care if you have french tipped nails!

And most have no idea what they are. And if you tell them, they'll forget!

Thats like asking if girls like big block or small block engines.

    no offense!
i like them but also my boyfriend does too he like the girly look but not every month just once or twice year its somethng different
I don't think they would care to much about how fancy and girls fingernails are. Just as long as they are clean and good looking.
Guys could give a sh*t less either way. As long as they're long enough to scratch their back, thats all they care about!!!
No, they don't hold two-by-fours together as well as good old American 10-penny nails.

    -- But A Simple Carpenter --
well it depends on what boy your talking about. but i once saw this survey in seventeen for guys and like 70% said they liked girls with french manicures.
my boyfriend don't mind or care if i get my nails done but he likes it better when its natural and slightly short.
I don't think they even care. Well I personally do french manicures on toes :]
French tipped are nice but a well manicured painted nail is just as good. Just don't chew 'em!!!!
Most guys don't even notice a girls finger nails.
    Trust me...no straight guy has ever said to another straight guy, ';check out the nails on HER.';

    EVER.
What the f*ck are ';french tipped nails';?

No, I'm not going to Google it.
    neither
guys probably don't know what french tips are, unless they care about nails
I like them, it looks very elegant
i love french tipped nails, they look so clean and shiny, and hot! :)
I know my boyfriend doesn't! He likes all natural.
    I do
If they are not attached to your breast I doubt that they even see them. Men don't care about that kind of stuff.
guys don't know what they are probably. But it depends on the guy. ACtually, I have no idea.
no because it means you waste money on useless things.
i like woman who wear black nail polish on their fingers
They look cute on my toes !!!!l
hell yes its so sexy to me
    yes

Wat do u think about me doin my nails, french manicure or wat?

yes, ask for acrylic nails with the french/white tips. if you just have them paint your nails, it will chip off and not last very long. acrylic/fake nails also do NOT ruin your nails as long as you take them off properly.

my nails have a hard time growing long, and when i get acrylic nails, i take them off slowly and patiently with Acitone, or go back and have them take them off.

either way, my nails usually grow very very long and pretty underneigth the fake nail, and they look soo nice when i take the fake nail off!Wat do u think about me doin my nails, french manicure or wat?

Gel nails or french pedicure- i have grad, which one should i do ?

well if you have shoes where you can see your toes, i would go with a pedicure, especially if you havent had 1 in a while.

    on the flip side,

people might see your hands more. if you are shaking hands, giving hugs, taking pictures, writing numbers, getting certificates ect.ect.ect., more people will see your great nails!

another option, just get your nails painted instead of the whole shaBANG. it will be a lot cheaper and then you can just get your toes painted without the pedicure!

orrrr... get someone to give you an at home pedicure for free. (like a friend, neighbor, mom, cousin, sister...ect).soak your feet and trim your nails. then take a pumice stone and take off the dead dry skin. finally, put on a clear coat and then white nail polish on the top of your toenail. wipe off the excess with a q-tip with fingernail polish on the end. then you can get your nails done!

orrr... ask a relative for that as a grad present so u can get both. im sure they will be glad to help! remind them that this day only comes once in a life time

    i hope i helped!
French tip for sure. But if you want something a little more funky but still pretty, try a french tip in a different color, like black or hot pink! So cute!
okay my absolute favorite nail design is a watermelon. the bottom laer is a bright pink-red color (i like to use passion punch by revelon) and then on the bottom strip of the nail, use a pale green. after that dries, layer darker green on it, leaving a thin line of the pale green showing (although the pale green thing is optional, i think it looks better) then use a black gel pen or polish to make seeds on the pink part so your nail ends up looking like a watermelon

When you get a French manicure on your real nails, how long does the white part last?

only a few days unless you do absolutely nothing. When you get a French manicure on your real nails, how long does the white part last?
    2 days?!

Mine usually lasts from 2 weeks to a month.

Depends where you got it done. Professionally or yourself?

That's also something that can affect it.

Professionally, it should have lasted about 2 weeks to a month, I got mine done a week ago and I still have them :)

Than again, it depends if the person sucked, aha:)
    Up to a week.

Use gloves if your using to much of your hands.

remember to seal the end everytime you apply polish,. This helps the polish last longer.

Apply polish to oil free nails, this help polish last longer too.

    Use a good polish, OPI.

    Apply fine even coat.

French manicure? Well it depends. On my toes it lasts like over a month! Maybe even two. (I don't wear flip flops or sandals often). And on my finger nails, like.. a week (I'm a bit of a biter....) but I redo them often.
It dosn't last that long, maybe a couple of days. Nail polish on real nails tend to chip faster then on acrylic nails. Acrylic nails are plastic and thicker and the polish tends to sit on it longer than your natural nails.
Mine lasts at least 3 weeks.
oo wow, mine lasted up to two weeks

French manicure or full acrylic nails?

a french manicure or a full acrylic set? which do you prefer and why?French manicure or full acrylic nails?
Acrylic nails is what I prefer. It looks professional(Unless it's the long, can't do anything with nails.), and I always end up messing the polish up. So i love doing Acrylics.French manicure or full acrylic nails?
Acrylic, looks nicer, differnt designs %26amp; last longer (design)
French manicure looks cleaner. Super long acrylic nails get in the way and look dumb.

Should I get Kiss Everlasting French Nails?

hi guys i want a french manicure for homecoming but i don't want to go to a salon. i want the everlasting french nails by kiss, but i kind of got nervous when i saw all the warnings like skin bonding may occur. also, is it safe to put contacts in when i am wearing them? and what should i do to take them off? what shape should i get, flat or round? should i get the kiss nail remover?

    thanks!

p.s. i already have used fake nails before. they were the express on by kiss.Should I get Kiss Everlasting French Nails?
yes they r beautiful!Should I get Kiss Everlasting French Nails?
Ive noticed with fake nails, that they sometimes leave little pockets of air underneath them, making them appear, well... fake. If you know how to apply them without this happening, then go for it. As for removal, follow the instructions on the box. I think you should go with flat because they look chicer.
my friend had them, and that 'pure white nail that wont wear or chip,' yeah. it chips.

Have booked a pedicure but some of my Toe nails are quite short, can i still have a french polish. If not any?

pretty suggestions . ThanksHave booked a pedicure but some of my Toe nails are quite short, can i still have a french polish. If not any?
A french polish will look very nice on your toes! I've had it done before. You DON'T NEED LONG NAILS in order to have it done. If the salon knows what they are doing, they can make it work by painting a thin white line across the top edge of your nail! I've done it this way %26amp; no one knows the difference!

Since summer is approaching, try to liven it up a little! Get a color that's close to a Salmon or Melon color (not the green melon, the pinkish/orange one) You will love it!!!!Have booked a pedicure but some of my Toe nails are quite short, can i still have a french polish. If not any?
Of course you can. The pedicure peeps are professionals and will be able to polish your toenails exactly as you ask. The white part will just be further back than usual. :) enjoy lol.
Yes you can. Just be sure to have them do a thin line if they're that short. Otherwise, it'll look like your toe-nail beds are really tiny and you grew your toe nails out!
yea, u can still get a french, but u can also asked them for extensions! they can put a fake nail on the short nails of ur toes and add acreylic
You can still can but make sure they don't do the line too thick or it'll look funny
yes but they will have to push your cuticles down

    have a good pedicure!
ask for tips. Your nails won't look good if you do it right on your short nail i've tried it b4
yeah ,check get some fake tip toe nails

to spend as little time as possible in the silly bra, panties, and stockings I have to wear so I am hopping I can do this after I have the nails doneI have to dress as a French Maid for Halloween! How hard is it to put on stockings with fake nails ? I want?
With false nails on you are most likely to ladder them. I ladder them with natural nails and I've been wearing tights all my life.

Edit- Make a hole in them which then will run the whole length of the stocking, like a ladder. Ruins tights completely :(

Are Kiss Everlasting French Nails worth trying?

Okay, so I'm having a party next Thursday. As the host, I want to make sure to look cute. :D That sounds shallow, but anyway..I keep seeing t.v. commercials for Kiss Everlasting French Nails, and I was wondering if I should try them. I think that, at my pool party, having french nails would look adorable. I've wanted french tips for a long time, but I know that with everything else I want for my party, my mom will never let me get them done professionally. So, if you've used them or know someone who has, are they worth it? I don't want to apply them and then have horrible nails for my party! But, if they work like they do on t.v., then I'll definitely want to use them!

    Please help!%26lt;3

thanks. (:Are Kiss Everlasting French Nails worth trying?
You should totally try them! I have worn them and I will NEVER get my nails done professionally AGAIN!! Kiss everlasting french nails look sooo good they honestly look like they were professionally done. I tried them recently because I was tired of how bad my real nails were looking. I got them at walgreens for like $5 and it literally took me less then 10 minutes to apply, it was that easy! What you should do though is after you apply them onto your real nails, apply a thin coat of clear fingernail polish, that keeps them really nice and shiny for more than the seven days. I usually prefer the real short ones becuase I just like that clean manicured look. My boyfriend even thought they were my real nails, not to mention my mom was mad at me because she thought I went out and got them done professionally and spent a fortune, but when I told her I only spent 5 bucks and did them myself she was shocked!! When you buy them though just make sure you get the right type, they have them for flat nails, for normal nails (which are high arched), and custom box set, which is if you have both flat and normal nails. Anyways, these nails are really great so you should definetly give them a try!!Are Kiss Everlasting French Nails worth trying?
Yes..Try them!! I wear them and like Becca, I will never get mine done professionally again!! They look awesome and feel awesome!! They also last way more than the advertized time of 7 days.. I have currently had the ones I have on now for 3 weeks and they still look good!! Go get you some!!

    Kiss everlasting french nails?

I wanted to try them, but I play volleyball most days of the week, and my ballet teacher HATES long nails. Are they easy to trim? Will they look weird if I try to file them? And I'm not really a big fan of putting glue on my nails, since I've heard the horror stories on what they do to your own nails, so what product should I get? Is anything else better than kiss? I'm going to walgreens with my mom tomorrow... so...

Last question: Are stick on nails better than the glue on ones?Kiss everlasting french nails?
stick on nails are quicker to apply rather then gettin to glued on ones. I personally have tried 3 ways, the stick on ones, the glue on ones and I have also gone to the salon and gotten my nails done with acrylics. I would suggest getting them done at a salon if u are into sports and don't want them falling off. I am into basketball and the stick on ones lasted about 1.5 weeks (they were the kiss brand) and the glue on ones lasted about 2 weeks. When i got them done at a salon they lasted 6 weeks. but if I must choose one I would choose the glue on ones. they would probably last longer. But I must tell you that if u glue them on then depending on how u did it it may hurt to have them taken off.Kiss everlasting french nails?
I've use them and there called like daily something blue box or pink and there french mani ones. There are many other styles and there really nice and they look real. They have different kinds for different life styles like sports so there extra like thickish not really but i've played soccer in them. To prevent those ';horror'; stories you can purchase a nail polish remover and they remove the glue and nail like it like falls off (not your real nail lol).

the steps are really easy: (the even have the little plastic tips on them so you don't get glue on your hands as well you can file them because they come with a file a short as you want and still look fabulous)

tip: even paint a coat on them will make the color fade or chip and strong

    -hope i helped

Is there acrylic nails for French pedicure? If so, should I get that?

You CAN get acrylic nails on your toes, but I don't think you should. I'm a fan of short, well groomed toenails. A French pedicure already makes them look longer than they really are, and I can't imagine a reason to add acrylics. If you do, you'll be pretty much stuck wearing sandals for a while, since they will be uncomfortable in closed-toe shoes.

Also, acrylics really wreck up your nails. You have to keep going in and getting them filled as your nails grow, and it's a real pain. If you take them off, the nails underneath have been filed and roughed-up so much that they're really thin and nasty. It really isn't pleasant. Is there acrylic nails for French pedicure? If so, should I get that?
What's the big fuss about French pedicures? Just have your toe nails cleaned (because pedicure refers to toe nails), before someone accuses you of something...really...ummm...embarassing.

  • Question about french nails?

hi, i was wondering, are fake french tips cheesy? as in the ones you can buy from a drug store? because i want to get some, but i can't actually afford to get them professionally done by a manicurist, unlike the other girls at my school, lol but i don't want to waste the money to buy them if they don't look goodQuestion about french nails?
OK, if you decide to buy them, they will only last a couple of days until they fall off unlike the professionally done ones.

so i would sugest either getting them done or doing them yourself. they come out how YOU want them and they will last about 2 weeks. And just because other girls are doing their nails doesnt mean you have to. BE YOURSELF %26amp; LOVE YOURSELF. create your own unique style. then you'll have every wishing they can be as cool as you.

    hope it helped :)

    Bye.Question about french nails?
    Hi!

I have tried several do it yourself brands, gone to the salon to have them done and done them myself. The do it yourself can look nice but you can tell they are fake. The salon style looks the best but is expensive for upkeep and it ruins your real nails. I like low cost and easy upkeep for my nails. I now use the French Manicure that you can use like nail polish. I found it at http://www.mynaturalnails.com/ccp0-prodshow/RC-203.html If you like to protect your nails but like them shiny like having a clear coat on try The Elasticoat that is a brush on at http://www.mynaturalnails.com/ccp0-prodshow /RC-303.html. I hope this helps! Oh just so you know I am using a friend's account to reply I'm a girl not a guy!
it would be best to do them yourself.

the fake nails you buy at stores ruin your nails and they fall off the next day

and if your terrible at keeping the white polish in a straight line like i am then you can just go to the store and they have kits where you put a sticker on your nail to keep it straight and when your done the sticker comes right off.

and if you do a good job then it still looks professional
buying? i think you have the terminology wrong

french is done with polishes, either by a professional or by yourself if you have a lot of practice

acrylics are the ones you buy and stick them on top of your real nails. if this is the one you are talking about, i dont personally like them o.0
    go ahead i like em

but when taking em off, put ur hand under warm water and SLOWLY peal them off otherwise you can destroy your real nail
I do fake nail TIPS (I do them myself) and I love them. They don't look as fake as the full acrylic nails. Plus it's way cheaper to do them yourself.
you should do them yourself..cheap and the way you want them..but yes..the fake ones from the stores are so cheesy..dnt go with those..girls will jus talk behind your back..

Is ok to wear red on my nails and toes if im in the wedding? or do i have to do the typical french?

its just me, the MOH, no bridal party, my dress is black, and I have another wedding the very next night, where I would like my toes and nails to be red...Is ok to wear red on my nails and toes if im in the wedding? or do i have to do the typical french?
i think that french would go better because red is loud and french is soft and would go perfect for a weddingIs ok to wear red on my nails and toes if im in the wedding? or do i have to do the typical french?
it really depends on what color your dress is. typical french is mostly used because it's a neutral thing....
go for the french or a lighter color, you are not the bride and all emphasis should be directed towards her
Yes its fine.. why is the maid of honor wearing black though? Atypical for a wedding.
ask the bride! it's her special day. but if she's too preoccupied with the whole... getting married thing [lol] then just go ahead and get red. I doubt she'd notice.
Why don't you ask the bride what she wants? Ask her what color she wants and if she says I dont know then ask her if you can use red. It's only polite
it would be fine....just make sure the bride is OK with it.
    very stunning..go for it!
I think it would be fine. If anything you could wear red on the toes and french on the fingers.
My personal opinion would be that red would be beautiful with a black dress. However you need to consider what the colors in the wedding are and if your red polish would clash with the colors. Most importantly, I would ask the bride. Chances are, if she has asked you to be MOH, she trusts you and she'll be ok with your choice of color. It would be polite to get her opinion though...it is her big day after all.
    Why not

Your dress is black so it should go just fine

    Have fun

My brother is getting married and I can't wait : )

Why are white tip nails called french tip?

I am wondering it too. Sorry I have no answer for that but that caught my attention and I will do some research for that. Just check soon and I will post/add it here when I can find the answer.
Sounding more exotic usually enables one to charge more for an otherwise mundane product.
This form of manicure was actually made famous in the US. The reason why is called french is to give it an exotic name. Same reason why lots of products use ';European'; in their name.

    cheers
    looks like french vanilla
French manicures, an idea originated in Paris in the 18th Century , are characterized by a natural pink base nail with white tips. It resembles a natural nail. The tips of the nail are painted white while the rest of the nail is polished in a pink or a suitable nude shade.

An American manicure is a French manicure with beige tips rather than pure white, and clear pink polish over the nail.
    they originated in france duh!
cos the french are reknown for being polished - having finesse, therefore have very clean looking fingernails prehaps?
    Probably it came from france
Because all French people are white
    cuz...i love french tip!!!
Because that is the way french do their nails.

    French manicured nails?

I'm interested in getting tips with a french manicure. I don't want any design on it. Does anyone get a plain french manicure (pink nail straight white tip) from an airbrush machine. I don't even know if salons do this. I don't like when its hand painted because it chips way too soon! Thanks!French manicured nails?
I get what is called Pink and Whites. Which is pink nail with a white tip. They are the gel type. An airbrush machine does okay. They still chip and I do not think most salons do this. The gel tips last up to a month and do not chip. Just remember though that they damage your nails. So only do it if you want to keep doing it. Hope I could help!French manicured nails?
I am sure they will just call your salon and ask, they would know not us
yes you can get it airbrushed on but i think gels are better. just go to a nearby salon and ask them about it.
There are 4 ways to get a french manicure:

    1. Get a gel-nail french manicure

    2. Use the fake nails stick-on french manicures

    3. Go to a place where they do your nails and do the french manicure design

    4. If you have naturally white tips and light pink nails, then just shape your nails square and once it grows out, put a clear coat on top of it ( I do that )

    French manicures on short nails?

I was thinking about getting acrylics, but after hearing about how horrible they are and how often and expensive it is to fill after I get them, I decided I should stick with natural nails. Right now I have super short nails, like I have barely and tips. Should I wait for them to grow out to do a french manicure, or are they okay on short nails?French manicures on short nails?
i've personally had them frenched at all lengths. the longer i had them done at the faker they seem to appear, plus people always would ask if i had on acrylics. IMO, short actually works better for french manicures. just so long as they break even with the skin. if the nail doesnt cover the skin, it might look a bit weird. however if they cover the skin (i.e. up to the finger tip) the illusion of a french manicure makes short nails appear longer. plus there's the added bonus of a lower chance of chipping and breaking your nails once you get a mani. but be sure that when they shape your nails, they are oval and not square. otherwise the illusion doesnt work.

here's the best short picture i could find because all the online pictures suck:

    http://nailtechsecrets.com/wp-content/photos/Patera_no_background.jpg

    compared to the long:

    http://www.nailparts.com.au/images/finish.jpg

    compared to the hideous acrylics:

    http://www.nail-2000.com/images/frenshnail_520.jpg

my advice: go for it now. and stay far, far away from acrylics.French manicures on short nails?
    i like short nails
I like short nails, long ones make you look like a cheap wh*re. Besides, you can't type or write well with them on...
Yes, they're fine short. I've done it with my nails at a short length and it looked really cool. And like she said, its also fun to play with this style and lots of colors. Good choice on keeping your natural nails too.
I use my natural nails, just so theres a bit of a tip at the end so theres a difference between your nail and the tip, about 1-2cm. and if you want a funkier, edgy way of doing manicures I use different colors for my tips.
Hun, french manicures went out about 5 years ago and acrylics did also. Right now it's all about the natural nail, if you really want to paint your nails, try a natural type color like beige or off white.
french looks its best with long nails..

i personally don't think you wanna do it in short nails.. i mean i prefer applying reg. nail polish than going out with unpleasent looking nails..

Girls, do any of you have or like french nails?

Though I'm sure that they break easily, they are so attractive on a girl. Thanks for answering.Girls, do any of you have or like french nails?
I love french nails , I get mine done every week. French nails look even better when a woman's hand is wrapped around a guys ****. Girls, do any of you have or like french nails?
I love french manicures. Yeah my boyfriends finds them so attractive too. If my nails are long enough i get them done on my real nails, if they're short i get Gel Nails and have a french manicure on them. They look great!
I like french nails because to me they are classy. They don't break easy if you get gel instead of acrylic.
french nails are cute. although taking care of them can be a pain. but that's why there mostly for special occasions.
    yeah

but i dont them them on guys

    lol

Fake nails.. how long do a gel set, with french tips last?

how long do a gel set, with french tips last?Fake nails.. how long do a gel set, with french tips last?
they last as long as you want them to--as long as you keep them maintained....but just a warning.... when it comes to gel nails there is NO way to remove them unless you have them electrically drilled off.... they dont soak off as acrylics wouldFake nails.. how long do a gel set, with french tips last?
Depends on how well they are done, but usually 3-4 weeks, depending on your dailly activities
Your to get your nails done every two weeks ....
good choice gel is the way to go usually last 8 days to a week depending on your health and how fast your nails grow
If you go to get your nails done professionally with fake nails then they will put on this gel stuff and the french will last for as long as your fake nails last, In other words the french doesent go away its permanent. I would definitely recommend getting fake nails. I got them for a Senior High Banquet, And they were beautiful. I got sooo many compliments, and when you scratch your skin it doesent damage your skin and it doesent hurt, so it really protects your skin.

Well I hope this helps! Good luck! :)
that depends on how you take care of them. if you get them filled every two weeks and don't break or chip any of them they could last forever
    SKANK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just kidding everyone she's my sister don't report me.
depends on how fast your nails grow. they can last 3-4 weeks without you needing to get them filled. to be honest, i just remove them after that period of time because when you get them filled they just start looking worse and worse. you can see the fill line and the tips just get longer and longer and you cant cut them without them looking bad.
If they put the gel on top of your manicure then your manicure will not chip. Plus, the gel will make your nails always stay shiny. But look out if you go to a tanning bed, they'll turn yellow.

    French nails?

how do u put on the white nail polish on the ends if the nails so it looks neat, the kits are hopeless and with one coat it isn't white enough and u can see the nail underneath still. how to do it so its perfect like when the pros do it.

    thanksFrench nails?
I have been here, too! The best thing that works for me, is painting a line over the tip of the nail, and just wiping it off your finger if it gets on there.

Another way to do it, that can be potentially messy, is taping the part you don't want the white on, and removing the tape once the nail polish is dry.

Even still, you can try using colors, like blue and pink and green, to give it an interesting twist, and the colors should go on dark enough!

    Hope this helps. :)French nails?
use tape at the bottom of the nail, close to where you want the white to be, and then paint the white on, and when dry just peel the tape off!

    French nails?

if you want to do your nails french tip do you think getting fake nails or growing your real nails are better?

and witch do you think is better a square or curv tip?French nails?
Natural nails are the way to go.

Artificial nails destroy your natural nails. You will get into a vicious cycle, and you will eventually have to get artificial nails forever.

Square is much classier than oval.French nails?
The shape of the nail depends on the shape of your cuticle. Round cuticles, rounded nail tips. Square Cuticles, Square Nail tips.

If your looking for the color to last a while then go with the artifical nails. If your looking for maybe a weekend with the white tip in tact, and about 99% painless, go with your real nail.

    Hope to help!
    let your natural nails grow.

artifical nails damage your nails a lot.

and i think square is better.

i dont think its too young...i first glued on french nails when i was in elementary school....but if you're not okay with it, just tell her to try growing her own nails out.......i've been doing that since, like, 5th or 6th grade and my nails are really strong and really long
I'd let her, but only if she was unlikely to want them forever after she tried it one time. If my daughter was likely to beg me to keep them on, I'd probably wait until she was a little older. But that's just me.
Artificial nails are not good :((( I personally tried them and they messed up my real nails soo bad. Then, it took about 3 weeks for my real nails to get better. You'd better go to a salon and get your natural nails done.
i was 12 when i always did my nails.

there really pretty and who cares just let her.

it doesn't matter, there just nails. most 12 year Old like the sound they make. but if she wants nails why not?
I think 12 is probably too young to have the acrylic nails...but she could try the glue-on nails from Wal-Mart or somewhere...those are still cute, but not as long-lasting.
If your mother doesnt mine but I would only do the ones from walmart not from a salon.
    french nails are pretty!

    go for it

Are french tip nails the same as acrylics?

Acrylic is the product nail salons use for fake nails. Another one they use is called gel. Most of the time acrylic and gel are in powder form, and they are applied with the use of a brush dipped in primer.

French tip is basically getting the tip of the nail in white, whether they be glued on as a (white) tip and the acrylic or gel put over it, or sometimes they simply just airbrush it on or paint on your nails. Are french tip nails the same as acrylics?
french tips is the style when they paint the tips white. Acrylics are the fakie nils. Most DO have the fakies and have them painted french tips aka french manicure but you can do it or have it done with your natural nails. That's what I do. Natural. Are french tip nails the same as acrylics?
French tips are just a style. It could be gel nails, acrylics or natural
no. you can have french tips put on your own nails just with nail polish. acrylics are something they put over your own nails and then they can also give those french tips.
No. Acrylics are designs on your nails. Like air brush. Verrrrrrry purtee! I had it once.

Girls, do you have ';french'; nails?

I find them so sexy to see them on a woman...and to feel them...do you?Girls, do you have ';french'; nails?
Yes, I do. But my nails are.. my real nails. I don't wear fake ones, and I do the tips myself. :)Girls, do you have ';french'; nails?
    I do not have them.
I do. But I'm not sure if any guy I know finds them sexy
Ooooh pretty, i just wiped them off =P

whats the easiest way to get french nails without using fake nails. I don't know how to paint them without having half my nail white.French nails question??!?!?

Okay well (you can get this at Walgreens or any drug store like that) you can get Sally Hanson French Manicure Kit and it comes with little stickers and I have it and it helped so much! (:

    Can you help?

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?鈥?/a>
in CVS they sell little stickers that block the rest of your nail so you can paint just the line at the top of your nail or you can cut tape curved and paint the line before or after you paint the french color
They have the french nail kits at wal mart and drug stores for about $6. It is easy and has everything you will need.
elf sells kit tht work really well they are sticcker tht you put on ur nail and paint over and it comes with the colors, but ya there are lunch of french manicure kits

    Question about fake french nails.?

I've never gotten a manicure before but i just got a gift certificate and was thinking of getting a french fake nail. Ar there any other cool fake nails? Also my nails are short now so I thought it would be a good did idea to get fake nails and then never get them again so maybe my nails will grow- but do they ruin your nails? How long do they last?Question about fake french nails.?
Don't. I have long nails, and they are nicely handled, and my mom paints them all the time because that's her job. Grow your nails. Everyone thinks my nails are fake becase of ow ';perfect'; they look. Its a nice compliment. Keep good care of your nails, and who knows, people could be sayng that to you%26lt;3Question about fake french nails.?
Yes, there are other styles, there is american which is kind of like a french but they look WAY more natural. And then there is basically just the regular painting the nails. And yes, they do ruin your nails. But if you keep them on for awhile, and then get a fill in, then a fill in is all you will need to keep them up and that costs around 14 dollars. way cheaper than getting a full set of nails, you usually have to get that done every month. and then after about 4 months it will be all of your nail with just the hard top on your nail, which is good because it will be really hard for you to break a nail. I like having my nails done because my nails are REALLY sensitive, they break easy, I have actually tried to get my nails done and then let my natural nails grow out but it didnt work, after i got the nails off... which was hard to do by the way, my nails looked really bad. So if you dont plan on keeping them done i wouldnt suggest getting them done at all unless you dont mind having your nails look bad, but it goes away after awhile. I do it sometimes and i dont really mind the look of my nails but that is just because i dont care! lol. Hope this helps! Good luck!!

first off you're talking about 2 different services....is your certicifate for a manicure or is for a full set of nail enhancements????? cause if its for a manicure you will have to pay extra for the nail enhancements....yes there are other styles of nail enhancements but the sky is the limit as to how you want them designed....if your natural nail doesnt grow yes it is a good idea to get nail enhancements they make your nails/hands look better(no one especially guys like to look at short nubby nails)but if you do get the nail enhancements then you will have to maintain them every 2-3 weeks for fill-ins....they wont ruin your nails as long as you take care of them...they last as long as you allow them to last....but what i tell my clients is if you're going to stick with the enhancements i suggest that you have them removed every other month so that your nailbed can breath and strengthen before getting them reapplied

    French nails?

do you like french nails ?French nails?
yes i like them way better then all of those designs...it looks naturalFrench nails?
    yes very chic!!!!
I love french nails. They are classy looking.
If you mean a fench manicure, YES I love them. On my finger nails and toe nails. They're very natural and they last a long time.
    yes

I have french tips on my nails but they're growing out, how do i take them off?

best way to do it at home is to soak it in a bowl of nail polish remover

might take a while, but it will work

and make sure you dont have any cuts, it will burn/sting terribly

It's so hard to type with french manicured nails -.-?

Anyone else have this problem? It's so hard to type with french manicured nails -.-?
Haha you get used to it after a little while. It can be hard when you first start though. It's so hard to type with french manicured nails -.-?
If you got tips put on, next time ask for the sports cut. They will cut them alot shorter, and you should have a much easier time. When mine were too long i had problems hitting the wrong letters because my nails seemed to do whatever they wanted!
well it depends how long they are cuz i have a french manicure and it's fine for me cuz i have had it for like a few weeks but if u just got them then it might be hard but u'll eventually gte used to it!
I never understood how girls can do it??? I guess you'd get used to it but.... it probably still slows down your speed?
do you have tips??? if u do...then it is a problem...but you get used to it in a few days....

    Fake french nails?

I know they sell them at like Rite Aid and stuff...Are they good? Just wondering (:Fake french nails?
I use to wear them...when I was 12!!! But you can get nice ones at the drug store. Just make sure they look professionally done when you put them on...if not, take them right off.

But fake nails are bad in general. Did you ever notice people who wear fake nails, their natural nails get yellow and brittle?? Well sometimes it gets worse. If fungus gets under there, your screwed. You'll have to wear fake nails for the rest of your life.Fake french nails?
I dont like them but if you do then whatever you think!
    No, they're pretty awful.
As a manicurist, i have to say that it's never good to glue a nail form over your natural nail. Too often one gets tired of them peels them off and takes half the nail off with the glue.

Find a reliable manicurist, not one of those Asian places, and have a manicure every 2 weeks. You can grow your own beautiful nails with a little help!!
You have to get the ones with the really tough glue, and don't bite them like I do.... they don't taste very nice.

Don't get cheap ones either, they break way too quickly and you will find picking things up with your fingers will be reaaaaalllyyyy hard.
no they never look as good as getting acrylics done at a salon! normally just look cheap and tacky!
getting acrylic tips at a salon is a better idea. doing them yourself is too messy
I wore some, and they just feel really weird. Then again, I'm not used to wearing fake long nails.

  • How can i paint my own nails, french with out messing up so may freakn' times?

    any tips?

links too plz. :]How can i paint my own nails, french with out messing up so may freakn' times?
Use tape or the little strips that come in French manicure packs...you can get these from the Pharmacist....I spend years making a mess until I discover these...I love them! How can i paint my own nails, french with out messing up so may freakn' times?
if u don't have the strips u can use tape on the part that won't be paint and remove it until is completly dry
    there's strips you can use
    2 tips:

Buy a french manicure kit - they com with little strips that create a line for you to paint and let dry at the tip of your fingers and toes. Just let the tip dry and paint the sheer color over it after you remove the strip.

    or,

Sally's Beauty Supply carres a nail polish that is specifically made for french tips. It comes in a long narrow tube with a skinny brush that basically creates the clean tip for you. They're about $4.
Good question. I'd like to know that too. They do have the fake nails you can buy, and some have glue on them already. They are fast and easy, and pretty. On the other hand, I don't really like them because they don't last long and I don't like the way they feel. So I just have mine done. But I'm kind of funny about that. Others like them just fine.
What my sis does is put tape below her nails (the white part where your nail grows) and then paints the white tips and then takes off the tape after it dries. Works pretty good since everytime she does it I ask her if she just got a manicure. They also have the ';professional'; nail tape where you can do that. Or whanot
It always looks better if you just use a nail whitening polish (boots do a good one) and use a nail whitening pencil - as natural as it gets!
well if your doing french bye yourself your going to mess up so i would just get them done bye a friend or at a nail salon.
Why would you want to? French nails look so disgusting and cheap.

    French nails: pretty or trashy?

i just got short, square ones. I cant decide if they are nice or notFrench nails: pretty or trashy?
They're classic... Why would you think they were trashy? It's not like you have long fake nails that are all airbrushed a million different colors... : )French nails: pretty or trashy?
It's more of a personal preference. Nails that are well manicured and cared for always look much nicer than ones that aren't.

If they are professionally done, they will look nice and last a long time.
they're nice if you do them right. my mom got them done but the lady didn't know what she was talking about. it was some korean lady who didn't speak english, and didn't know how to do a french nail.
    I got them too

I like hot pink french, or black frencch, or some funky color

Right now I have the regualar french with a silver sparkle line underneath and a design on the ring finger =]]
I like french nails because they match everything and they look nice and clean. If nails are too long they look trashy, but if yours are shore to medium length I'm sure they look pretty.

    French nails vs. color?

Help me out gang. I have a long pink leg cast. Would the toes peeking out of the end of my cast look better painted pink, to match my cast or red - or french. If it helps, I do wear a sandal with a heel on my normal foot.French nails vs. color?
i would like a french nail but using a red glittery line on the tip of your nail or i would use pink for a nice summer look

check out these nails these would look great on you

    http://www.christiesnails.com/greatnails鈥?/a>French nails vs. color?
I would go with red. This is because if you choose pink, then it will just blend in with the cast and people wont even pay attention to your toes, and french-tip is ok, but really dressy in my opinion so if you wanted to go casual, then it would look wierd.

The red however is a casual color but still has a really nice rich tone to it to add a little pop to any outfit.

    Hope this helps!
French for sure it looks realy cute and maket toes like litle candys.

Acrylic nails or Regular French Mani?

Well this is my senior year, and i do want to look best for the dances. My question is; does acrylic nails look a lot better than a french manicure? Because My names are naturally long so I was thinking my nails should can pull off being long, without looking disgusting. Soo yeah.Acrylic nails or Regular French Mani?
    it depends.

if you only want it for a short term use, definately go with the regular french mani.

otherwise, for long time wear, try the acrylic.

but although acrylic looks best, it takes alot to keep them looking nice.

you have to get them redone about every 2 weeks, or you could just choose to get rid of them.Acrylic nails or Regular French Mani?
You can get an acrylic overlay over your own nails, but you may want to consider getting pink and white gel nails--it looks like a french mani but there is no worries about chipping the white part (which always happens with polish) You don't want nails that are TOO long, either with acrylic or natural--long nails are germ factories.

Those chicks walking around with those Frito-Lay fingernails; ten-to-one if I did a swab underneath their nails I'd find more gross staphylococcus bacteria than you could shake a stick at.
Hi I am a nail tech......If your nails are long, and Strong than you should just polish them (french manicure). If your nails split, break, or just thin you might want to put acrylic nails on.

If you go with acrylic nails you have to get a fill very 2 weeks so it's really up you and how much time, and money you want to spend to keep your nails looking good. One more thing it also depends on the look you want and what you like best!!!!!
Go with just the manicure. It won't ruin your nails and looks just like the acrylics it is amazing. also it can last longer if you buy the pain from a store to do touch ups. :)

Also no irritation and bothersome things on your nails that will make you want to bit them off.

Another thing is the acrylics fall off alot of the time so the nails look crazy for along time then they look good.
ahhh im trying to workout the exact same thing.....i think im just gonna go for the regular french manicure...because i like being able to paint my nails different colors, but my nails suck and are so weak and keep breaking so maybe acrylic would be better....but if you have nice nails anyway id def just go with the regular manicure that way you paint them and they wont look fake or trashy..
well evenually u use acrylic nails for french tip to u noe but just ask them if u want to just paint your nails like a frnch tip because your nails will get verry thin if u put fake nails and they will make hang nails trust me i tried
well acrylic nails might ruin your nails and since you have long nails then a french mani probably look good and it might be cheaper....

Go with a french manicure. Looks much classier than acrylics.
i reckon french nails will look hot - theyre simple but look stunning and high-class and they suit everything! =]
go with the french its alot sexier

Will a french manicure look good on short nails?

my friend wants me to get my nails done with her in a couple of days, an some of my nails are shorter than the others. so the nail ppl will probably file them down to the same size.

so will a french manicure look good on short nails vs long ones? Will a french manicure look good on short nails?
It might not look quite as nice as on long ones but I'm sure it will look just fine. Will a french manicure look good on short nails?
Yes, absolutely. People get french manicures on their toes, and it makes them look nice and clean. Go for it!
I think you should spend your money on a better edumacation.
the length of the nail doesn't matter. its the shape of the fingers that makes the manicure look good.

if you have slender fingers, your nails will look good long or short. if you have thick fingers, short nails will make them look thicker and broad so you should go with longer lengths.
hi, i do nails and yes, the white edge does give the illusion of a longer free edge, also they look more natural when they are shorter.
YA, IV HAD MINE DONE LIKE THAT BEFORE, BUT IT DOES KINDA DEPEND ON THE SALON!!
In my opinion french looks better on shorter rather than longer nails. My nails grow long naturally and I get them cut and filed for a french
    nope!!it won't i tried it i am 12 and i am a gurl
    yes

i think they actually look much better on shorter nails because on long nails, french tips just make it look fake, TRUST ME!

i have short nails, i keep them that way, and i use to have french tips on them

    it was pretty good lookin
it all depends on who you go to and how good of a job they know how to do. it will look good as long as you get a good job done.
    Yes
    yes it will look good!!!

like some of the other people said it will make them look longer nad it looks very natural compared with long nails!!! good luck hope u loke it!!!
yea...nails always look purty when you get a manicure...they're always nice and shiny!
A French manicure looks better on short nails anyway
Yes. actually I like shorter nails better. It will look nice, I've had it done myself.
it will make them look longer
it looks better on long nails...but you still have done it with short (hopefully its not so short you can see your finger) Otherwise it will still look elegant...so go ahead do it!!!

Yes, but the chances of the nails staying on lowers. I have had nails put on when my real nails were very short. Is it possible to make french manicure with gel on short nails?
Yes. Your need to find a manicurist who can do this. And the manicurist needs to take a class from the company sales rep.

who sold them the gel light, and use quality supplies that will last.

Gel and acrylic are about the same. They are both the same as for the health of the nail, because you have to file the nail plate for the gel to stay.Is it possible to make french manicure with gel on short nails?
yes...you simply create the part that you would normally paint only lower...it makes your nails looks shorter though...i think it looks fine.

french tips went outta style with the '90s.

What is the average price for gel nails with french tips?

Well if you truly wanna get a low price you have to search in your area and compare. One thing to look for though is the quality of some places gel nails are more pricey then manicures. In my opinion wait for a special to go on. Going to your nearest malls have quiet affordable prices in my opinion they range between 25$ to 35$ depends on where you go but that's the range.

hope i helpedWhat is the average price for gel nails with french tips?
Pink and white gels tips are always more expensive. At a place that has pink and whites for 70 they will have regular gel tips for 40. Both stay on the same length of time. the only difference is when you get pink and whites they use two different types of gel a pink for the base an a white for the top to create a french manicure. if you get regular gel tips they do the whole thing clear then paint over the tip. They both look very good and last the same amount of time. What is the average price for gel nails with french tips?
    $25-35

Pink french nails or red fingernails?

Men and Women....I appreciate both opinions! Hi everyone...after a horrible marriage and exhaustive divorce, I find myself dating again! (Please wish me luck!) Have a date with someone...blind date...long story...set for this Wed. night. We are going to a holiday light show type of thing. I am wondering if I should have my nails done french white or regular manicure with red polish. I am wearing black pants, black, gold/white top (kinda holiday,) and black leather boots with heel. I am 36, he is 42. I heard that red is out, french very popular. Is this true? I think red may look nice for the season and also look nice with the outfit. Nails are not dragon lady length; just a nice oval manicured look. Guys, what do you like best? Girls...your thoughts, please! Thank you very much...I am sooo nervous!!!Pink french nails or red fingernails?
Keep it simple. A french manicure is your best bet. Also, dont wear a lot of makeup either. Hope ya have fun on your blind date!Pink french nails or red fingernails?
Go with a deep burgandy. A cranberry color is good for the Holidays. Red signifies that you are bold, courageous, flirty, a ball of fire, and sexy. Pink signifies that you are soft, flexible, and meek. All colors are good if your scratching my back.

No to both. Try sculpting, or those nice patterns for the holiday.

french manicures are always cute. if you want to go with a color, find one that matches your hand's skin tone - preferably a holiday color. have fun =)

How long do you wear your nails? Color can look cheap on tips, especially if you wear them very long.

If you're keeping them pretty short, then you can get away with a color - go for a deep red (OPI's Quarter of a Cent-Cherry is a GORGEOUS crimson-y red, and does NOT look cheap).

If you prefer a slightly longer nail, then a french looks best, IMO.
    French tipped looks better

I go back and forth on the nail issue. I prefer the neat look of a french manicure but I'm always torn between natural nails or acrylic nails (fake but tasteful nails)....what do guys prefer?Men only...what do you prefer..pink and white french manicure or natural nails?
either one..nice long nails are a turn on...so are natural...Men only...what do you prefer..pink and white french manicure or natural nails?
Only the length desired and the health of your nails should determine whether or not you get acrylic nails. If your nails are healthy and the length you like, then there's no need for artificial nails. You can get any finish you like, from plain clear, to French to colored; whatever. It's just that many women have difficulty growing and keeping longer nails and many more have cracking and splitting nails for a variety of reasons. Anyone who has had healthy long nails can tell you that it can be frustrating when you snap, crack, split or break one of them. The acrylics or gel nails are much harder and will last longer and take more abuse without damage. All long nails, natural or artificial, can be very attractive. It depends on your own sense of style and taste, how you dress, etc. Personally, I prefer long nails, about 1/4 - 1/2 inch (or more) longer than fingertips on women, and any finish from clear to French to color, as long as it looks great and professional - no chips. I've even seen a young lady wear different colors on each finger, and it didn't look too bad. It wouldn't look too great though in an office setting or at the opera - so it also depends on where you're going, what you're wearing, etc.
It won't matter to most guys. Probably would matter more to girls....

    So natural nails.
I think natural, it is more ';you'; which is what we like, don't be somebody you aren't
to be honest i don't really care. I noticed when my girlfriend (now ex) had her nails done and I just said they look cute blah blah blah but I really couldn't tell the difference lol

Yes! I love French-tip nails, to me they're a blend of elegance and sensuality. The nude color evokes a pure emotion, and the white tips just emphasize where I'm gently and lightly caressing, circling, and enticing with my fingertips. Talk about a turnon!Girls, do you like french nails? I find them really sexy and feminine.?
When they're a naturally-achievable length (you know, kinda moderate), I LOVE them! I had them for the last wedding I went to, and they made me feel all girly :D !!

However, sadly, I can't wear them very often (my job wouldn't put up with them for very long, lol)...but yes, they make us (or at least me) feel the way you described them!

Lol, for me, they mean the opposite of trashy: elegant. Whenever I have them on, I see myself in a ballroom gown with my fingers daintily wrapped around the stem of a glass of champagne or wine (none of which I can drink yet, but the image is pretty!) while intimately whispering to a guy, haha...yeah, I'll stop before my imagination gets the best of me!
Yes, I always get a french manicure. I think my nails look elegant and attractive.
No, they kind of remind me of a stripper or someone trashy.
I HATE long finger nails of any kind.
    absolutely!
mine are done right now. i love french nails!!
    Yes

Are french manicures the most pop stylefor nails?

The regular French manicure is a little old and boring, but you can do a variation of it by painting the tip in a different color other than white or decorate it with little stickers. Are french manicures the most pop stylefor nails?
french tip??? i think people are starting to get over that. but short dark color nails are more in nowAre french manicures the most pop stylefor nails?
french manicures have been in for a very long time and are still popular with many people. lots of magazines show us that it is still ';in'; to wear french manis/pedis.

personally, i think french manicures are a little pase..... and tacky. i would go with a light pink or deep red, navy, or violet color.

essie.com has the BEST nail polish for only $8/

    hope this helps~
Well, I go in every Saturday to get my nails filled andI asked Peter (my fave nail tech) and he said that French tip is super popular amongst white girls while fancy airbrush designs are most popular with black women. So Yes and No.

What is an easy way to do french tips on your nails?

I love French tips! Here are two ways I have done them:

Try painting the underside of your nail instead. Seriously! It looks very natural. Most of us have somewhat see-through places on our tips anyway, so it kind of evens it out. I used to do this a lot.

You can buy French tip guides, little stick-on thingies that make the process a breeze. But regular Scotch tape works just as well! This way you'll always get the edges even.

Best of luck. What is an easy way to do french tips on your nails?
I'm 14,and I did mine on my own before :)

If you are willing to wait then..

I grew my nails out and when they were long enough,I shaped them with a filer ,and then I got some white finernail polish and carefully painted the tips without lifting it off of my fingernail, and then I waited for those to dry, then I got some nail hardener (it's clear)and then I painted over the unpainted white part, and let that dry,I did about 4 coats of this so my nails would shine like the acrylics do :) When I went to school the next day, people were actually asking me who did them, and I told them me,and they asked me could I do theirs lol.I made some money that week and I still do nails for some of my classmates ^.^

If you don't want to wait,

Go to the nail shop,French Tips only cost 13-20 dollars at most salons.(Well, the ones I go to anyway lol)What is an easy way to do french tips on your nails?
What I used to do was just try my best to paint only the tips and then i used Q-tips with nail polish remover and then just shaped it to make it look the way i want it. it works great, and then put clear nail polish over and you're done! Also my friend taught me another way. she said she just cutted out the shape from just any paper and then cover your nail exposing your nail tips and then just paint with no worries. i hope that made sense!
hi i done beauty theropy at collage best thing to do is do a straight line across the top of your nails make sure they are all about the same thinkness on each nail ...then let it dry go ove it again ...make sure u dont do it to thick or it wont turn out as good
Honesty, I have a friend that uses a white-out pen, sounds weird, but try it, her's always look professional!
    A pro

Are French Tip nails still in style?

Im in to the natural manicure look. I like the natural pinks...Plus I tan alot so there's no point when they eventually turn yellow. Do you think they are still in style???Are French Tip nails still in style?
I think so! French and red are the two styes that are absolutely classic. Are French Tip nails still in style?
Definitely. They are still very popular, whether it be acrylics or a french polish on your natural nails. You can ask for a UV topcoat on acrylics to stop staining so I assume there would be something similar for a polish.

French nails look clean and stylish, I love them! They also look great on toenails... have you noticed how many brides still have a french polish!?
yeah I still get them all the time I am in high schoool and I know a lot of oter people do!!!

acrylics are fun they are just so bad for nails!!!

when I took mine off m nails were paper thin %26amp; kept on bending.

    but yeah, go for it!
I think french tips are ALWAYS in style. its a clean and sophisticated look for a polished hand/ nail. I personally love french manicure.
Yes, but not long ones. Short rounded ones look the best, kind of like this:http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa105鈥?/a>

yes espically acrylic french tip nails. i see a lot of people lately have zebra on their acrylic with a neon tips. it sounds weird but it looks really cute.
Yeah. I think they look very 'dressed up'! When you are at the salon, you can ask them to put a special coating on that prevents them from turning yellow due to tanning!!!
Yes. I would get them done at a salon. Not too long but no more than 5 mm.

    Hope this helps

    Plus they look really pretty
Definitely. They're classy and look feminine.

ok well you can do them at any time but to look really god there should at least a little white on your own nail but if you bite your nails like my friend does then you will probably be better off getting fake nails!!!How long should your nails be to get a french tip done?
